Hello, I am Charlotte
I work as a project manager, am a parent, and live abroad as an expat in Brighton, United Kingdom.
Several years ago I moved here with my family. What began as a temporary contract gradually became a new chapter of life overseas.
How It Started
Moving to United Kingdom wasn’t in the master plan. Like many expatriate relocations, it started with a job opportunity and soon grew into something far larger.
The early weeks were demanding — new systems, new routines, fresh expectations. Everyday tasks felt more tangled than they needed to be.
The Adjustment Period
There was culture shock, uncertainty, and a lot of learning on the job. But gradually, routines took shape. We found places that fit us, met other families, and began to build something that felt steady.
Why I Built QuietStoneWave
Most online information was either corporate relocation guidance or shallow tourism content. What was missing was an honest, everyday family viewpoint.
This site exists to bridge that gap — practical advice based on real life in United Kingdom.
What This Site Is About (And What It Isn’t)
This site covers:
- Real-world experience from life in United Kingdom
- Centered on family life and everyday realities
- Updated whenever a genuine change occurs
This site isn’t:
- Not a tourism authority resource
- A sponsored-review platform
- Just another generic travel blog
Moving Forward
Our time in United Kingdom continues, and so does the learning journey. As long as the information remains useful, I’ll keep recording what we discover.
If you have questions about family life in Brighton or anywhere in United Kingdom, please don’t hesitate to reach out.
Best regards,
Charlotte
